Bucyrus, ND is along Highway 12 in Southwestern North Dakota, east of Bowman. It was founded in 1907 as Wolf Butte, and was also known as Dolan for a time.

The elevation at Bucyrus is considerably higher than most of North Dakota at 2775 feet. Peak population was 124 in 1930. There are roughly a couple dozen North Dakotans living in Bucyrus today.

If you're driving Highway 12 in southwestern North Dakota, be prepared for some very bad stretches of road in between Gascoyne and Haynes.
